Bus Stop Learning Engagement- Order of operations(DMAS)
During this activity, the students were given flash cards with increasing difficulty level or challenge containing the problem sums with 2, 3 and 4 operations. These set of cards were placed on four different Bus Stops. The
students moved in groups each time the buzzer rang and solved the sums using the DMAS rules.
DesignThinking- Stage 2 Define
The students discussed in their
groups to identify the major problems in both the areas, dining hall and hostel. They also
discussed the impact these problems have on the end users. Later, the
groups defined the problem statement. They formed sub groups
within their groups based on the major problems identified in their
respective areas.
An interactive session with Ms.Nuwaira on Design Thinking
During this session , the students shared their understanding of the Design Thinking process and its various stages with Ms.Nuwaira. They also reflected upon their work done so far in the current Design Thinking project. The students made a connection between the Inquiry Cycle and the Design Thinking strategy. Where inquiry process enables us to inquire and gather information, make real life connections and help building attitudes and skills, the Design thinking process provides an opportunity to find problems and come up with solutions for these problems . It was an interactive session. :) :)
DesignThinking- Stage 1 Empathize
The students identified two areas in school, the dining hall and the hostel to conduct their observations as part of the first stage of the Design Thinking process. They were divided into
two groups . One group visited the dining area while the
other group explored the hostel area. They listed down their observations after visiting these areas and interacting with the end-users in both the departments to empathize with the
problems faced by them.
