Field trip to the Salarjung Museum

The students went on a field trip to the Salarjung Museum in connection with their Unit of Inquiry on imagination and creativity. They were astonished at how people turned their imagination into creative piece of work.

It's my "Not a Box" :) :)

A YouTube video- (Not a box)  was  shown to the students, wherein they saw how imagination can bring different ways to create something new. The discussion that followed lead to an understanding that imagination leads to creativity. The students worked in small groups and made their own, "Not a Box". They displayed their creativity and shared their work with their peers. It was a fun-filled experience for the students as they turned a plain box into something very creative.

Prior knowledge assessment

The students shared their understanding of what is imagination and creativity as part of the pre-unit assessment. They used the KWLH tool for the same.

Campus walk- a search for patterns

The students worked in two separate teams and went for a campus walk to look for patterns around them.

Recap of concepts

The students revisited the concept of place value through an activity involving number cards  and abacus.
