Double Bubble Thinking Map- A tool to compare and contrast
Students tried to guess what the Double Bubble Thinking Map will look like and tried coming up with their own graphic organizers using the interactive board. In order to compare and contrast two characters, either from the same story or two different stories , the students learned about the Double Bubble Thinking Map wherein they used a graphic organizer to record the similarities and differences between the two characters.
Introduction to rules of divisibility
The students were divided into three groups and each group was assigned one work station. Work station 1: Two times fun Work station 2: High Five Work station 3: Perfect 10. In each workstation there were pack of flash cards with a number on each card. The students were asked to divide the number on the flash card with 2, 5 or 10 according to the workstation they are at. They observed that all the remainders are zero, which means they are exactly divisible by the numbers 2, 5 or 10. Based on the pattern observed, the students will learn about the rules of divisibility for the numbers 2, 5 and 10.
